With a low starting price, the 2-series Gran Coupe plants its flag on the affordable end of the BMW lineup and satisfies driving enthusiasts with a frisky demeanor. Like rivals such as the Audi A3 and the Mercedes-Benz A-class, the 2-series Gran Coupe offers a premium cabin in a compact body with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood. All-wheel drive is optional, but all models come with the same eight-speed automatic transmission. The high-performance M235i model makes a stout 301 horsepower, but its ride is stiff-legged and may not appeal to all drivers.
